Musings

The mobile was silent, and the mails never came
Not yet.
The blogger mates were glum, nothing from them
Not yet.

I wondered for a while, am I missing it.
From friends and strangers -
Wishes for the beauty of the Republic.
Thank gracious mercifully though,
Nothing this time around.
Not yet.

Perhaps they see the aura of the state
ebbing slow but sure.
Perhaps they see the futility.
Of feigning blind when it is glaring and vivid

The poor country is plunging down, down and down hill
Thanks to us, one and all
For whom ‘the self’ matter more.

And the tricolour – a fragment of cloth, colourful though!
To be unfurled at the Lal Chowk, and paint the mother red.
In blood.

you have given up? totally? i wish there was some way and i think it starts with the individual. Nothwithstanding we burn like the collector of maleggaon when he intervened in the oil adulteration mafia. What wrong did he do? but there are people who are fighting...

Sorry for being late.
Happy Kick Public Day !

@ kaalpanique

It is out of sadness, and disgust.
Look there is a hundred other things these political leeches could have done in Kashmir today. Sooth the hurt , bruised souls . That was like unfurling a thousand tri-colour flags.
The national flag must fly in the hearts of the Ksahmiris not in some street corner.

@ deeps,

I find nothing to be happy about , if the state of the nation is what I must be happy about.

@ doc antony,
Unpardonable doc. You were late with your wishes. And nevertheless I accept.
I wonder when this kicking the Republic will cease.

I'd gone home, I just came back this morning. I am not sure whether I would've wished you a 'happy republic day' even if I were able to. Normally I keep myself out of cyberspace during these times when jingoism and 'mob frenzy' reaches its peaks! :)

I sometimes wonder if we should be happy about it.

Parade our defense missiles; flaunt our military power; a Kathakali here; a bommalattam there...a festive spirit...its all parade.

Ah, wait! I am going to come up with a post. We can rant and crib more then :)

@ Arun,

If you had wished me I would have taken you as a silly jingoistic fellow. You did not and so you are not.
As doc antony said"kick public day".

@ Insignsia,

Yes indeed we can crib, I will wait eagerly for your post. Happy cribbing!
Oh well what insensitive unpatriotic fellows we are!
